A well-known Kerry GAA personality is hitting the road to raise funds for charity.
Michael O’Mahony, from Rathmore, is taking on an 80km challenge to raise funds for Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland.
He will walk the roads of Rathmore and East Kerry during the month of October to support the charity and he is appealing to the public for support.
The former long-serving PRO of the East Kerry Board, originally from Annascaul, said Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland is not government funded and relies exclusively on public donations.
“It takes two years and €25,000 to fully fund the training of one autism assistance dog but that dog can transform the life of their child companion and family,” he said.
“The dogs provide safety, independence and a lifetime bond for an autistic child,” he added.
