A DOORSTEP challenge had the perfect result for Anthony Clifford and his father, Pat, from Glenbeigh, who won a cool €1,000 in a novel competition run by Lee Strand.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the launch of Lee Strand’s 100 per cent renewable two-litre cartons, the company teamed up with Radio Kerry presenters who travelled across the county to see who made the environmental switch and had the new sized cartons in their fridge.

Day 13 of the promotion was certainly a lucky one in the Clifford household when Radio Kerry’s Alan Finn came knocking on their door and, following a draw involving all the other finalists, they were deemed winners alright.

“Thanks a million it’s great. We are all big Lee Strand milk drinkers for years and the new two-litre carton is fantastic for the environment,” said Anthony’s whose 92-years-young father, Pat, has been a big milk drinker all his life.

A total of 14 daily finalists were delighted to receive hampers full of Lee Strand products when Radio Kerry called to their homes. The grand finale took place on the Full Breakfast programme when Andrew Morrissey drew Anthony Clifford’s name from the 14 finalists.

Speaking at the presentation, Lee Strand CEO Gearoid Linnane, remarked: “The response has been very positive a year on since we launched our new two-litre cartons. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support and for making the switch from plastic”.
