The film, titled The Uncountable Laughter of The Sea, focuses on language, landscape and light and the central question of the film circles around the age old philosophical question what is the good life?
It was written and directed by Ballyheighue man Patrick O’Neill whose world renowned fashion designer brother, Don, will be in attendance at the Killarney screening.
The English and Irish language both a prominent role in the narrative, as well as occasional quotations from Latin and Greek epic poems and the recent encyclical on the environment from Pope Francis is read from by narrator Kelsey Lang McCarthy.

President Michael D Higgins, who saw the movie, remarked: “It’s an elemental and beautiful film, combining powerful cinematography with the spiritual contemplation of the wonder of nature, such a great contribution to heritage.”
President Higgins added: “It is a work of art, a wonderful and moving experience,”
Fr Pat Ahern of Siamsa Tire, said: “The film is a feast for the eye and for the spirit. Firmly rooted and located in County Kerry featuring breath taking scenery, all captured in stunning cinematography.”
The film will be shown in Killarney at 7.00pm.
