New Cemetery to host annual open air service

The New Cemetery in Killarney is looking immaculate for tonight’s Mass

THE annual open air Mass in the New Cemetery in Killarney will take place this bank holiday Monday night at 7 o’clock.

The burial ground is looking immaculate for the occasion, thanks to Jimmy Reen and the organising committee, who have erected Papal flags and bunting to mark the upcoming visit to the country of Pope Francis.

Those planning to attend tonight’s Mass are asked to bring a small bottle of water with them and it will be blessed at the start of the service. They will then be invited to sprinkle it on the graves of loved ones.

Those that arrive early will be invited to partake in the Rosary which will commence at 6.30pm

Vehicular access will be from the Tralee Road only and parking will be limited. As the priests of the parish will be in attendance, there will be no 6.15pm Mass in St Mary’s Cathedral tonight.
