THE most talked about actor in the country is currently having fun in Kerry.

Normal People heart-throb Paul Mescal is enjoying a visit to the county after spending a number of days last week in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.

Staff and customers in The Bianconi Inn in Killorglin were gobsmacked when the 24-year-old actor walked in the door on Tuesday night to enjoy dinner with friends.

The Bianconi posted a photograph on social media with the message: “So thrilled to have Paul Mescal dine with us last night. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip in the Kingdom!”

He happily posed for selfies with fans who could scarcely believe their luck to meet the actor with a big reputation.

The young star, who played Connell Waldron in the hit series that became the talk of the nation, is instantly recognisable following his role opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s bestselling novel.

The Maynooth actor is a former inter-county under 21 footballer with Kildare is a graduate of The Lir Academy at Trinity College, Dublin which, coincidentally, is where mush of Normal People was based.

An accomplished singer, he is also preparing to join singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy on stage for a one-off performance at London’s Natural History Museum on July 30.
