Originally planned for late June but rescheduled for this Sunday, all the action will focus on Mahony’s Point at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club for the 235th annual Killarney Regatta.

The six local clubs, Workmen, Fossa, Flesk Valley, Muckross, Commercials and St Brendan’s, will be in action in a number of categories and age grades and the first crews will take to the lakes at 9.30am.

There will be great on-shore entertainment throughout the day with dancing, novelties and all the old favourites such as a bonny baby competition with the winner to be chosen by the reigning Lily of Killarney.

Five young ladies will be competing for the Regatta Queen 2022 title and the club representatives are Sinead Oliver (Workmen), Beth Coffey (Fossa), Sarah Wharton (Commercials), Eilis Milland (Flesk Valley) and Sarah Trant (Muckross).

The identity of the winner will be revealed at the regatta dance and presentation of prizes at the Killarney Oaks Hotel on Sunday night.

This year’s regatta hall of fame recipients will be the Workmen’s senior men’s crew of 1986 to 1992.
