KEEN Killarney golfer Terence Mulcahy has extra reason to celebrate Shane Lowry’s brilliant British Open success as it earned him a cool €1,000.

Ross Golf Club member Terence had included the Clara hotshot in his selection for the Dr Crokes GAA Club’s Open Challenge prediction and his combination came up trumps.

Brosna native Terence, who recently stepped down as general manager of the International Hotel in Killarney to pursue other business interests, is a regular golfer and a former captain at the Ross Club.

He pipped Alison Shaw and John Keogh to claim the top prize and he was presented with his winning cheque by club chairman, Patrick O’Sullivan.
