There were 106 marriage ceremonies conducted in the Killarney parish in 2024, official records show.

The total does not include secular or civil ceremonies held in hotels or other venues or at the civil registration office.

In an interesting comparison, Killarney parish records show that the number of wedding ceremonies held 100 years ago, in 1924, was just 39.

The number of deaths recorded in the parish in 2024 was 109 which doesn’t compare favourably with the 34 funerals held in the local churches in 1924.

There were 149 baptism ceremonies in the parish during the year just ended with the corresponding number from 100 years ago at 119.

A total of 218 children were confirmed in Killarney in 2024.
