Pádraig will be laid to rest in Ardcrone Cemetery

The funeral arrangements for the late Pádraig Harnett, the popular sports broadcaster and reporter, who passed away in Kerry General Hospital on Friday, have been announced.

Reposing in O’Shea’s Funeral Home, Killarney on this Sunday from 3.00pm until 6.00pm, Requiem Mass will take place at 11.00am on Monday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Currow.

Burial will take place in Ardcrone Cemetery, Currans.

The family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers to be made, if desired, to University Hospital Kerry.

The Requiem Mass will be live-streamed on https://www.churchservices.tv/coticcurrow.

Originally from Upper Park Road, Killarney and living in Currans, Pádraig was predeceased by his parents, PJ and Kathleen, and he is survived by his wife Maura (née Daly), brother Brendan, stepson Seán Daly, nephews David, Mark and Robbie, niece Edel, mother-in-law Sheila, sisters-in-law Yvonne and Kathleen and his aunt Mary.

Pádraig’s death, following a brief illness, has caused widespread shock across Kerry and beyond and numerous tributes have been paid to the community activist who was involved in so many sporting organisations.
