Brilliant All-Ireland senior céilí band champions Taobh na Mara are to join forces with Celtic Steps: The Show for a very unique collaboration at Killarney Racecourse on Saturday, September 17 (8.00pm).
A wonderful evening of Irish music, song, dance and culture is guaranteed and Taobh na Mara band member, Seán Kelliher aims to place young Irish talent and music centre stage for a fun-filled family night of entertainment.
Waterford-based Taobh na Mara – which translates as Beside the Sea because all band members hail from coastal counties – have played together at fleadhs and festivals throughout the country for the last number of years and this year they won the prestigious title of All Ireland Senior Céilí Band Champions at the Fleadh Ceol na hÉireann in Mullingar.

The band comsists of 10 All-Ireland musicians from all over Munster including Kerry, Cork, Clare and Waterford and they are renowned for their unique and lively style of traditional céilí music with a modern twist.
David Rea, co-producer of Celtic Steps: The Show commented: “Evenings like this represent the core of our Irish culture and these musicians are the grassroots. Celtic Steps is passionate about supporting the development of the Irish Arts industry and these guys are the future”.

Celtic Steps cast member and Taobh na Mara banjo player, Seán Kelliher, from Fossa, said the show will mark Taobh na Mara’s first performance together since the All-Ireland win and they are delighted to play on the Celtic Steps stage amongst some of Kerry’s finest musicians.
The performance will also feature a few more surprise guests in the form of local talent and under 15 All-Ireland accordion champion, Michael Healy from Kilcummin, as well as the Spa senior ladies, current who are the current All-Ireland set dancing champions.
Adult tickets for the show are is €30.00 and it is €20.00 for under 12s. Special price tickets for all CCE members are €20.00 and €10.00 respectively.
All tickets can be purchased from the Celtic Steps box office on 064-66-189-33 which operates from 3.00pm to 8.00pm from Sunday to Friday.
