A NUMBER of roadways in the Killarney area have been included for additional payments approved under the Local Improvements Scheme.
Kerry has been given an extra €482,990 for the construction of 22 schemes and Kerry County Council has also submitted seven emergency and hardship schemes to the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The council will be writing to the representatives on the schemes next week to arrange the local contribution to make up the shortfall.
The areas to benefit will include 250m of roadway Crohane in Fossa, where there are six landowners, with €10,298 made available with the total cost estimated at €12,144 and a 260m stretch in Renasup, Firies with €14,590 of the €16,211 required being made available to the three landowners.
At Coolavorleen, Faha a 350m stretch serving two landowners will get €10,139 of the €11,266 required for roadworks.
In Faha, Killarney there will be €14,958 made available for a €16,620 job on a 500m road to two houses and at Shanahill West, Castlemaine, €17,870 of €19,855 needed is available for a 550m road to four houses.
Of the bigger projects Springville, Scarteen has been allocated €44,500 for a €52,353 job to provide for 11 houses, Neanntanian in Killorglin has been approved for €47,441 of the €55,818 needed to service 10 houses.
The biggest project is at Knockanish East, Tralee where €73,362 of the €86,308 needed will be paid out for a 1,2,12m stretch of roadway to 26 houses.
