Roads being upgraded on popular looped walk

Tomies Wood will be off limits for 10 days

THE popular walk at Tomies Wood outside Killarney is to be off limits to the general public for a 10-day period

The attraction will be closed off for programmed road maintenance from Tuesday next, September 14, up to and including Tuesday, September 24 between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm each day.

The closure is being implemented by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to facilitate road resurfacing works and potential visitors have been advised that there will be no access.

The ancient oak wood trail at Tomies in Beaufort leads to the spectacular O’Sullivan’s Cascade – one of Killarney’s hidden treasures – and the scenic 9km looped walk has proved incredible popular since a new access road and car park was opened to the public last year.
