Sadness in town at the passing of a well-known local

THE death has occurred in Killarney of Declan O’Leary of the Flesk Bar and Restaurant who was a very familiar face and a much-loved character in the town.

Always friendly and with a cheerful word for everybody, locals and tourists, Declan passed away today at Our Lady of Lourdes Care Facility in Kilcummin, where he had resided in recent years.

Predeceased by his parents, Mick and Mai and brothers Dermot and Michael, he is survived by his brother Denis and sister Sheila, brother-in-law Brendan Rohan and sister-in-law Helen.

e is further survived by his nieces and nephews, Michael, Sinéad, Colette, Noelle, Heather, Michael and Thomas, grand-nieces, grand-nephew, other relatives, and good friends.

In accordance with Government and HSE guidelines, and in the interests of public health, a private funeral will take place in St Mary’s Cathedral with the Requiem Mass live-streamed on churchservices.tv/killarneycathedral on Monday at 10.30am.

The Mass will be followed by burial in Aghadoe Cemetery, Killarney.
