Santa thrilled with big welcome in Killarney

THE children of Killarney were told they had better be good – for goodness sake – and they were on their very best behaviour when Santa Claus arrived in town last night for the first spectacular Christmas in Killarney magical parade of the season.

Wearing a stylish red face mask to match his suit, the man of the moment was thrilled to hear that all the boys and girls were being really good and he ensured all their names were added to his ‘Nice’ list which he will drop off to the elves in the North Pole workshop as they continue their preparations and gift wrapping duties in the build-up to the big day.

At the top of his list is Mayor of Killarney, Call Marie Moloney, who pressed the big switch to turn on the fabulous Christmas lights and all the Christmas in Killarney committee – who made the magic happen – are also in Santa’s good books.

Santa said he was delighted to see Killarney looking so wonderfully festive for Christmas and he was mightily impressed by the fabulous street lights and decorations on every street and in so many business premises.

He paraded through the streets on his special float and he had a super view of the town from his very high vantage point and Santa was also thrilled to see big smiles on the faces of the children who were safe with their families on the streets as the parade passed through.

Santa told all the boys and girls to be extra good in the lead-up to Christmas and he encouraged their parents and their teachers and their neighbours to stay very safe to ensure that everyone will have a Christmas to remember.
