STUDENTS at St Brigid’s Secondary School in Killarney are now able to cash in on their experience of the financial sector following the great experience they garnered in the AIB Build a Bank Challenge competition at the RDS in Dublin.

The Killarney girls won the best newcomer award in the Al- Ireland competition and with over 100 schools participating, that was a great achievement.

The team got the opportunity to present their bank project to a panel of judges for four minutes and they sold it well to earn the coveted honour.

All eight members of the bank team have been working hard for this competition since September, having won their places on the team through their interview skills and they quickly gelled and got straight down to work.

Student officer Alana O’Connor and teacher Ms Brosnan were a great help and support throughout the year and the team members said that the whole experience has been one of the highlights of their transition year for them.
