Students in a number of Killarney schools, both secondary and primary, are to swap their uniforms for colourful Christmas jumpers for a very good cause.
The Presents-4-Palliative Christmas Jumper Day will support the Kerry Hospice and funds will be raised by students in several schools, including St Brendan’s College, St Brigid’s Presentation, Killarney Community College, Presentation Monastery National School, St Oliver’s National School and Holy Cross Mercy.
Using all their persuasive powers, the students also encouraged some of their teachers and principals to get involved and St Brendan’s College teachers David Clifford and Gavin White even swapped their more familiar green and gold jerseys for festive season attire with a real splash of colour.
The big fundraiser will take place in all the participating schools on Friday, December 2 and students and teachers will made a donation to the cause for the privilege of being able to wear their Christmas jumpers.
