The Lough Lein Anglers’ Association held its 34th annual charity open fly fishing competition – known locally as The Charity – in the shadow of Ross Castle and the conditions were near perfect for the occasion.
Returning after a two-year absence due to the pandemic, the event is part of a great local angling tradition and it had already generated a whopping €229,000 for deserving charities in Kerry and Cork.
This year’s deserving beneficiaries will be the Kerry Hospice Foundation and the Saoirse Foundation BUMBLEance – the children’s national ambulance service.
Spearheaded by club stalwart and angling enthusiast, Timo O’Sullivan, the main sponsor of the event is Lee Strand.
