A POPULAR annual fundraiser in aid of worthy local causes is in the pipeline again.

The now annual Big Coffee Morning in Killarney will this year raise funds for Pieta House in Tralee and the event will take place in the Killarney Royal Hotel on Saturday, April 27, from 10am to 12 noon.

The event has raised in excess of €10,000 over the past four years and the organisers, Ann Marie O’Leary and Tara O’Donoghue, are looking forward to generating funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“It is always a great social morning with an abundance of home-made confectionery items and the finest teas and coffees. We are so grateful to the management of the Killarney Royal Hotel and their staff who continue to accommodate this event and those who bake and provide confectionery items for the morning” said Tara.

Ann Marie added: “In today’s busy world, we probably all know someone who has struggled with their mental health and Pieta House does some fantastic work to assist those who need help the most”.

She said this year’s coffee morning is being held in memory of one of her own friends and work colleague, Brenda Fitzgerald.

The event will feature a bumper raffle with an array of fantastic prizes on offer and the businesses of Killarney and the surrounding areas have generously supported the coffee morning and this year is no exception” said Ann Marie. We have a host of fantastic prizes and the raffle adds a bit of fun to the event.”
