Some fleet to beat after 60 years

SIX decades after Johnny and Mary Buckley started providing transportation to tourists in a traditional jaunting car in Killarney, Kerry Coaches is this year celebrating a landmark birthday.

The company, now run by their son, Mike Buckley, and his son, Johnny, currently boasts 75 ultra-modern vehicles and employs over 100 staff, during the summer season, from the base in Killarney.

It specialises in golf, sightseeing and corporate programmes, operating all over Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, while also having a strong local presence in the community.

To commemorate the anniversary, Kerry Coaches held an open at their headquarters in Woodlands Industrial Park on Saturday with fun and games for younger visitors while the adults got a tour of the facility as well as inspecting the impressive fleet.

On Saturday night the company held a special birthday dinner for past and present employees and other guests at the Dromhall Hotel, Killarney.
