

Two people who have devoted years of their lives to Spa GAA Club are to be honoured at the club’s annual awards night.
Former long-serving chairman Gerard Mangan, who has held several roles in the club and whose family has blue and yellow blood running through its veins, will be honoured with the prestigious lifetime achievement award.
Another great Spa stalwart, Assumpta O’Donoghue, who is still on the executive committee and has given years of service, will be honoured with the special culturall/social award for her commitment.
Assumpta’s father, Seamus, is a former lifetime achievement award recipient.
The annual awards will presented at the club function in Hilliard’s Restaurant in Killarney on Saturday, February 8.

Guests of honour on the night will be Kerry ladies’ mentor Cassandra Buckley and the Brendan Martin Cup as well as he Spa All-Ireland Scór winning set dancers.

Junior Player of the Year: Connie Cremin Mulrey
Young Player of the Year: Joey McCarthy
Young Lady Player of the Year: Isabelle Waters
The nominees for senior men’s player of the year are Eric O’Donoghue, Evan Cronin and Michael Foley while the shortlist for the women’s player of the comprises Vanessa Dineen, Katie O’Brien and Meghann Cronin.
Ticket for the celebration, priced at price €35, are on sale this week and they are available from Andrew Gartnett, Ivor Flynn, Adrian O’Sullivan, Anne Holland, Triona Mangan and Mathilda McCarthy.
