Spring was most certainly in the air and the visitors to Killarney National Park over the course of the weekend had an extra spring in their step as they embraced all the magic of the season with park staff.

The park’s education centre staff hosted a Step into Spring initiative with an exciting programme of events dedicated to this glorious time of the year.
Siobhan McAllister and Tara Buckley, from the Killarney National Park Education Centre, said they were delighted to be able to present a wonderful line-up of speakers and activities.
The guest speakers included Dr Ferdia Marnell, an authority on otters, moth specialist Stephen Cotter, tree expert Cormac Foley and Sam Bayley who has a great knowledge of bird life.
There was a also spectacular dawn chorus walk, nature-based family activities, a guided walk with conservation ranger Shonagh Gray and a nocturnal nature ramble.
