Impressive young students had a golden opportunity to showcase their eloquence at a public competition hosted by the ladies of the Killarney Soroptimists Club.
A total of 16 students attended from St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School, Killarney Community College, Scoil Inbhear Sceine, Kenmare, Intermediate School Killorglin and Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra in Rathmore took to the podium and they delivered a succession of immaculately presented, well thought-out and perfectly presented talks on their chosen subjects.
Three following students were chosen to advance to the Munster finals of the public speaking competition:
- Grace Foley from Killarney Community College whose chosen topic was people and human rights
- Lucy Johnson, Pobal Scoil Inbhear Sceine, Kenmare who selected partnership and the empowerment of women as her specialist subject
- Anna Roche, St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School, Killarney whose specialist subject was the planet and the environment
