A DECISION to cut summer bus services from Killarney around the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara and from Killarney to Inch has been overturned.
Deputy Danny Healy-Rae had raised the issue after it emerged last month that the National Transport Authority planned to discontinue the daily service for what is left of the summer season.
He said it would have come as a devastating blow to people who enjoyed regular day trips to places like Sneem, Inch and as far as Glengarriff.
Deputy Healy-Rae added that it would have had a very negative impact as Kerry and other counties struggled to rebuild after the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
The Kerry TD confirmed today that the NTA is reverse this decision as many people in these areas used to look forward to this service being provided.
The following summer services will resume and operate between July 12 and August 29:
- Route 252: Cork – Kenmare
- Route 276: Killarney – Inch – Dingle
- Route 280: Ring of Kerry
- Route 282: Ring of Beara
