A VERY familiar Killarney face will appear on television screens this Christmas night with a special guest appearance on what promises be a side-splitting Young Offenders festive special.

Tim O’Connor, from Spa, will join main stars Chris Walley and Alex Murphy – who play Conor and Jock – in the Cork-based comedy drama on RTÉ One at 10.35pm.

Tim is no stranger to the screens having already worked with Damian O’Callaghan’s OC Productions and he played the role of a hapless garda in the recently released shot in Killarney movie Tradition. He is a familiar sight around Killarney behind the wheel of a van with a distinctive yellow stripe which was used in the film.

Aside of his thespian prowess, Tim is also well known as a selector with the Kerry senior ladies’ football squad.

The plot for the Young Offenders special remains a closely guarded secret but what is known is that the residents of the estate where Conor, Jock and Mairead live have been fighting off an eviction from the council for over a month. The situation has been getting national media coverage and everyone involved is on edge but the real fun occurs when Conor and Jock set off on a chaotic adventure to try to make sure it’s a white Christmas. The results are hilarious.
