IT’S the town that just keeps on giving…. especially at Christmas.
Festive season magic continues to occur on the streets of Killarney with the Saturday night Christmas parades attracting thousands of people to the town.
Santa loves Killarney so much that he keeps on coming back and he’ll continue to do so right up to December 21 with the Saturday parades proving to be a smash hit.
It is right there alongside anything Disneyland can offer with beautifully princesses, spectacular floats, fun characters, music, lights, colour and, of course, Santa Claus himself who loves meeting all the boys and girls before he makes a list and checks it twice.
The lights and decorations bedecked town is looking incredibly festive thanks to the effort put in by the Christmas in Killarney committee and here will be an extra special treat next weekend with the gala parade planned for Saturday night at 6.00pm and the official switching on of the truly spectacular Tree of Light in the grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral at the same time on Sunday night.
The latter promises to be a real community celebration and the switching on ceremony will take place immediately after the short service at 6.00pm.
