Trees to be planted and addresses to be delivered

President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins and his wife, Mrs Sabina Higgins, will visit Kerry on Friday

President Michael D Higgins will visit Kerry on Friday for a number of official engagements.

He will be accompanied by his wife, Sabina, and as part of their busy itinerary, they will attend two events hosted by Kerry County Council.

At 3 o’clock that afternoon President and Mrs Higgins will visit the Kenmare Peninsula lands which are being developed as a public amenity and where he will deliver an address.

President Higgins will view proposals for the proposed development and plant a tree to mark his visit.

Later in the afternoon, they will visit Cumann na mBan Park, just off the square in Kenmare, where Mrs Higgins will deliver an address and will unveil a plaque and plant a tree to mark the visit.
