A HUSBAND and wife will be patrolling the beat in the months and years ahead as they are now both members of An Garda Siochana.
Mags Kelleher, from Rathmore, has graduated from the Garda Training College in Templemore and her West Cork native Detective Garda husband, Michael Milner, will now have to make room in the wardrobe for another blue uniform.
Mags, well-known as a top model and a former most stylish woman award winner at Killarney Races, opted to pursue a career as a Garda after many successful years working in the private sector and she is to be based in Gurranabraher in Cork City.
Kerry hurler Michael, now based in Tralee, spent many years on patrol in Killarney and he has important duties to take care of this weekend as he is part of the Dr Crokes squad that will play in the All-Ireland Club Championship final in Croke Park,
Michael and Mags have one son, Ryan, and they live in Killarney.
Mags is one of 12 new garda recruits to graduate in the past week and she will be joined in the ranks by her fellow Rathmore natives Diarmuid Foley, Patrick O’Callaghan and Brian Crowley, Patricia O’Dowd and Damien Cremin from Killarney, James McCauley, Ciaran Tyther and Brandon Boyle from Tralee, Anthony Garvey, Barraduff, Michael E Godley from Ballyduff and Patrick Curran, Waterville.
