TV series to chart the GAA days of Marc Ó Sé

Five-time All-Ireland winner Marc Ó Sé

No GAA supporter in the county will want to miss a special television documentary on the life of Kerry football stalwart Marc Ó Sé which will be screened on TG4 this Thursday night.

The Laochra Gael series (9.30pm) will feature the five-time All-Ireland winner who grew up surrounded by the game at its highest level.

Colm Cooper: Contributes to the programme

Football was in his blood as his uncle and next-door neighbour, the legendary Paidí Ó Sé, was one of the heroes of Kerry’s golden era, while his brothers also donned the green and gold.

Inspired by this legacy, Marc carved out his own place in Kerry football history, becoming a firm favourite among Kingdom supporters.

True to the Ó Sé tradition, he thrived when the stakes were highest, delivering commanding defensive performances and rallying his team-mates when it mattered most.

And, in classic style, he had a knack for surging forward at just the right moment to land a morale-boosting point.

Participants on the programme include Marc, Tomás and Fergal Ó Sé, Colm Cooper, Michael Foley, Paul Rouse, Donnacha O’Connor, Pádraig Óg Ó Sé, Ellen Ó Sé, Mícheál Ó Sé and Joan Uí Shé.
