ON a day when another 1,620 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed nationally, with 328 people being treated for the virus in hospital, 59 of whom are in intensive care, new figures have emerged showing the spread of the disease in Kerry.
In the 14-day period up to Monday last, a total of 684 cases of coronavirus were reported in the county.
124 new cases were confirmed in the Killarney municipal district which represents an incidence rate of 418.8 per 100,000 population.
There were 123 cases in both the Kenmare and Listowel electoral areas in the same fortnight, 99 in Castleisland, 68 in Corca Dhuibhne and 147 in Tralee.
Up to yesterday, a total of 6,988,411 vaccines had been administered with 3,726, 813 having received their first jab and 3,261,598 getting their second dose.
