AS Kerry County Council embarks on the first phase of the preparation of the new Kerry County Development Plan, members of the public are being invited to join a free online information session on the subject this Thursday.
Michael Scannell, the council’s Director of Economic and Community Development and Damien Ginty, Acting Senior Planner with the local authority, will give a presentation on the current phase of the drawing up the new plan which will cover the period 2022 to 2028.
The new plan will set out the policy framework and a core strategy within which development around the county is promoted and regulated over the six-year period.
It will progress through a number of stages before being presented to the elected members of Kerry County Council for consideration and adoption.
The first part of the process is public consultation on a high-level issues paper which deals with the broad principles involved in the new plan. The paper is now available to download from the dedicated County Development Plan website, cdp.kerrycoco.ie
The webinar will take place this Thursday between 10.00am and 11.00am and registration for the webinar is open now at https://cdp.kerrycoco.ie/webinar/
Meanwhile, submissions and observations on the issues paper can be made until August 21, in writing, to the Planning Policy Unit of Kerry County Council or by email to [email protected].
