THE striking new entrance to the Lake Hotel on Muckross Road, which features a life-size sculpture of a red deer, is one of the main prizewinners in this year’s Killarney Looking Good Competition.
The new entrance, floodlit by night, features traditional stone walls, backlit signage, a handcrafted rockery, enhanced lighting with subtle but effective uplighters. The addition of native trees such as Irish oak, Scotts pine and mountain ash, are also part of the surrounding landscaping work.
The Lake Hotel has won the Best Signage category in this year’s competition.
The prizes will be presented at a reception in the new Arts and Cultural Centre on East Avenue Road next Wednesday night.
