
Killarney Valley AC had a very successful two days in Waterford at the weekend with seven provincial medals achieved by the younger team members with the haul including one gold and six bronze medals.
The competition was of a very high standard with 30 competitors taking part from Killarney and personal bests and high placings were recorded from all.
Olamide Smith won the Under 13 long jump with a length of 4.53m and he also took the bronze medal in the Under 13 80m in 11.33.

In the long jump pairs Under 11 Charlie J Kelliher and James Doody took bronze while Lucy Devane was third in the Under 12 High jump
Kayla O’Sullivan was third in the 60m in 9.11, Teagan Lyne was third in Under 13 60m hurdles in 10.53.
The athletes now have qualified for the All-Ireland Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
This weekend coming the older teenage athletes will be in action in the Munster Championships at the Munster Technological University in Cork.
Over 35 Killarney Valley athletes are entered in various disciplines.
