Killarney has the golden touch

KILLARNEY has been presented with yet another gold medal for its impressive performance in the nationwide Tidy Towns competition.

The awards for the South West and Mid West region winners were presented at a prizegiving ceremony in the Listowel Arms Hotel with Disapora Affairs Minister, Jimmy Deenihan, Grace O’Dwyer, Community and Sponsorship Manager at SuperValu and Siobhan King of Fáilte Ireland officiating.

Minister Deenihan paid tribute to the enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers who get involved and he said the unselfish effort and the generosity displayed makes a difference to our communities.

“The result of their hard work is evident across the region in towns and villages that are inclusive, better cared for, better places to live and more attractive places to visit,” he said.
